Reasonable Modification Policy

In compliance with the USDOT Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 (49 CFR Parts 27 and 37), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, Brunswick Transit System, Inc. (BTS) makes reasonable modifications to its policies, practices, and procedures to avoid discrimination and ensure that its programs are accessible to individuals with disabilities. Requests may be submitted by completing a Reasonable Modification request form. If needed, BTS staff will provide assistance completing the request form.

As a recipient of Federal financial assistance, BTS does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or on the basis of disability or age in admission to, participation in, or receipt of the services and benefits of any of its programs and activities or in employment therein, whether carried out by BTS directly or through a contractor or any other entity with whom BTS arranges to carryout its programs and activities. 

This statement is in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and Regulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued pursuant to the acts, Title 45 Code of Federal Regulations Part 80, 84, and 91. (Other Federal Laws and Regulations provide similar protection against discrimination on grounds of sex and creed.)

Meetings

BTS Governing Board and Transportation Advisory Board meetings are held during the months of January, April, June, August and October and are open to the public. The meetings are conducted on the last Monday of the specified month. For more information concerning these meetings please call BTS at 910-253-7800. 

Las reuniones del Consejo de Administración y Comité de Asesores BTS se celebran trimestralmente durante los meses de enero, abril , julio y octubre y están abiertos al público. Retirement Announced for Executive Director

Retirement Announced for Executive Director

Brunswick Transit System announced that Yvonne Hatcher, Executive Director, will retire at the end of December 2026 after 25 years of dedicated service. 

During her time with BTS her leadership and support have been the cornerstone of the system’s achievements, from launching the first coordinated public transportation service in Brunswick County to establishing a strong transit foundation for the future of Brunswick County residents. We extend our best wishes to Yvonne as she embarks on this new chapter of her life.

 

Brunswick Transit System is in search of an Executive Director to provide strong leadership, effective administration, and a clear vision for our county-wide non-profit transit system, following the retirement of our long-serving Director.
